Appropriate Resolutions for life’s relationships.

Two value-focused examples:

 

   Jane called a colleague to ask for some support on a specific issue; she had a deadline and was assured that her colleague would get back to her with an answer and strategy. The deadline arrived and Jane never heard back.  Jane was angry and felt betrayed by a colleague she had perceived to be her friend.  Jane’s values associated with this scenario and which she perceived to have been betrayed included honesty, consideration, trust.

Sam’s life-partner goes away to a conference; upon her return, he senses something is wrong. Eventually, Beth, Sam's partner tells him she had an affair during his absence. Sam was emotionally devastated and lividly angry. In reality, consciously or unconsciously, Sam felt betrayed and perceived that the following values had been compromised; they included honesty, loyalty, faithfulness
